REGISTRATION FOR SCHOOL GROUPS

Dear Educator:

Thank you for your interest in attending this year’s Feria del Libro Latino y Mexicano – International Book Fair at Northeastern Illinois University May 13-17. This event will include a Book Exhibit-Sale, cultural performances, demonstrations and hands-on workshops, with offerings for multiple age groups and families.
Our goal is to encourage life-long bilingual literacy and healthy cultural development. You
are welcome to bring your school-age group at any time throughout the Fair, however group reservations are required for Concert Performances on Thursday May 14 and Friday May 15. School group Performance Concerts by visiting artists for grades Pre-K through 12are scheduled as indicated on the attached description. From the list below, please indicate the date and name of the performance you plan to attend on the enclosed School Group Field Trip Reservation Form:

10:00 AM Thursday May 14 Margarita Robleda Children’s Author, Singer, (bilingual Sp-Eng)
10:30 AM Thursday May 14 Lincolniana Ensemble Concert
10:00 AM Friday May 15 Grupo Travesaño-Música y Teatro Infantil (Spanish)
10:30 AM Friday May 15 Olmeca Cultural Hip-Hop (bilingual Sp-Eng)
10:30 AM Saturday May 16 Grupo Travesaño-Música y Teatro Infantil (Spanish)
2:00 PM Saturday May 16 Olmeca Cultural Hip-Hop (bilingual Sp-Eng)
Performances will last 45-60 minutes, with opportunities for questions and dialogue.
In addition to the performances, a schedule of Feria exhibits, workshops, author presentations and demonstrations will be provided to you after May 1. No reservations will be taken for these programs.

As a special educator, we also invite you to attend the Feria’s Teacher Recognition Reception and Baile (Dance), Friday May 15 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
